Aries + Taurus Gift Guide

Happy April, friends! Despite the numerous pranks that will probably be pulled today, I'm not foolin' when I say we have you covered for nifty gifties to win over all the Rams and Bulls in your life. Last month I mentioned awesome Aries info, such as myths, meteor showers and Mars-related goodies. Did you miss it? Catch up here.
This month is associated with several stones, but I'd like to highlight Opal, Jasper and Malachite because I luhhhh them and they’re powerful allies.
Opal has been known to enhance cosmic consciousness, stimulate originality and creativity, release anger to reclaim self-worth and assist with accessing and expressing one's authentic self. Our phases of the moon band is unique because it's set with the illustrious and seductive black opal. Oooo aaaaah!

Our Earth and Moon minimal hoop earrings feature gorgeous natural jasper!
The Jasper family is considered to be the nurturers, healers and spirit stones for powerful qualities such as courage and wisdom. All the variants of this stone carry a strong connection to the Earth's energy, so if grounding and stability are what you need, Jasper can help with keeping your feet planted firmly in reality – well, if that's where you actually want to be (anybody else feeling a little Calgon, take me away! these days??)
Malachite can be compared to that crazy juice cleanse that gets all the funky stuff out of your body. It clears and activates all Chakras, and draws emotions to the surface so they can be dealt with properly (versus smooshing them down, down, down hoping they just get buried and forgotten in your body somewhere – eek). Malachite is also known for its association with abundance, intention and manifestation, so utilize it when envisioning what you want your life to look like when someone asks you that annoying question, "Where do you see yourself in ten years?"
You can tell them, “Somewhere fabulous while wearing this gawgeous ring and cuff set donning Azurite Malachite, obvi!”

I'm fortunate enough to have three beautifully bullheaded people in my life whom I love and adore. My sister, best friend, and boyfriend are all Taurean beebees, so I'm quite familiar with the strong will (and other endearing qualities, teehee) affiliated with this sign. Taurus was the first sign of the zodiac established among the ancient Mesopotamians, who called it “The Great Bull of Heaven” since it was the constellation through which the Sun rose on the Vernal Equinox at that time.

In Greek mythology, the constellation is linked to Zeus, who transformed himself into a bull to get closer to Europa so he could abduct her. How romantic. One of my favorite star clusters, the Pleiades (or Seven Sisters), can be found in Taurus; and I distinctly remember talking about it on the very first date I had with my boyfriend, which definitely won me some brownie points because that's romantic. Take notes, Zeus.
Fun Fact: Depictions of Taurus and the Pleiades star cluster have been found in ancient paintings in the complex caves of Lascaux in France, with the portrayals likely dating back to 15,000 B.C.

Galaxy Locket featuring the Crab Nebula
Also found in the constellation of Taurus is the wonderfully chromatic Crab Nebula (or Messier 1), which is the remnant of a supernova explosion at a distance of about 6,000 light-years from Earth. It's believed that this nebula was first seen almost a thousand years ago in 1054, and it has certainly been on my favorite nebula radar ever since I first laid eyes on it. Apparently, the nebula name derived from a crab-like drawing that was produced by William Parsons, Third Earl of Rosse, after observing the object using a 36-inch telescope.
However you celebrate your beloved Rams and Bulls, we want to make sure they (or you!) feel special. If the whole COVID-19 has your purse feeling a little light and your doors locked up tight, we still have a ton of clearance items in our Etsy shop!
